Resurrection University named a “2020 Great College to Work For”
The results, released today in a special insert of The Chronicle of Higher Education, are based on a survey of 221 colleges and universities. In all, 79 of the 221 institutions achieved “Great College to Work For” recognition for specific best practices and policies. Results are reported for small, medium, and large institutions, with Resurrection University included among the small universities with 500 to 2,999 students. Resurrection University is an upper-division university in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood and prepares students for professional healthcare careers.
Resurrection University won honors in three categories this year:
· Compensation & Benefits
· Professional/Career Development Programs
· Teaching Environment (Faculty Only)
“At Resurrection University, we are grateful for all our employees and the extraordinary and purposeful work they do every day. And today, we are proud to be recognized as one of the 79 Great Colleges to Work For®,” said Therese Scanlan, president of Resurrection University. “Our employees come to ResU because they want to be a positive force for the next generation of healthcare professionals, and it’s through their dedication that we can continue to be a beacon for caring service, genuine community, and a compassionate culture.”
The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institution questionnaire that captured employment data and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.
The Great Colleges to Work For® program is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition programs in the country.
